ENGLISH BOYS ARRIVE.
INCIDENT ON CORINTHIC. i STOWAWAY'S FARE ARRANGED. PARTY COMING TO AUCKLAND. [nT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. When (he Corinthic arrived at Wellington to day from Southampton she had on board a party of English public school boys who are on their way to Australia. The party numbers 21, one of the original 22 having left, the ship at Colon and returned to England. On the trip out the boys became firm favourites with everyone on board and, according to one of the staff in charge of the tour, they enjoyed themselves immensely. Captain H. Bowan, who is in command of the Corinthic, allowed them to go everywhere on board, and some of them even did some stoking. The boys were the initiators of an unusual move shortly after the ship left England. Two days out from Southampton a stowaway was discovered on board, and was put to work below. In ordinary circumstances he would have been put off at Panama, but the boys decided to guarantee his fare to New Zealand. They had discovered that he was a New Zealander anxious to return to the Dominion, but prevented by lack of means. 'J he stowaway had been a steward in a ship, arid was found to have with him a police document which showed that he had been at Napier at the time of the earthquake in February, and had done good work. The English boys stayed in Wellington this evening. They will continue their journey to-morrow, leaving for Palmerston North in the afternoon, and going on later to Auckland, where they will catch the Maunganui for Sydney.
