POLICY OF TARIFFS.
ELECTORS TO DECIDE. VIEW OF MR. N. CHAMBERLAIN. British Wireless. RUGBY, Sept. 13. The Minister for Health, Mr, Neville Chamberlain, when addressing a Conservative meeting at Dumfries, paid a tribute to the action of Mr. Mac Donald and Mr. Snowden in tho crisis. He said he was satisfied that the situation had been saved. t They had balanced the Budget, but it remained to balance trade. Mr. Chamberlain said the policy of the Conservative Party in favour of a tariff had received a now impetus. It was not a time for hesitation or vacillation. Before long he believed the electors would havo to give a decision which would be a turning point in tho history of Britain.
