REAR-ADMIRAL BYRD.
ANOTHER POLAR EXPEDITION? DINNER WITH COMPANIONS. NEW YORK, Sept. 13. A message from Boston says RearAdmiral R. E. Byrd announced last evening that he would conduct another expedition to the South Pole. The announcement was made just prior to a dinner with 10 of his companions on the last trip to mark the third anniversary of the event. " Detailed preparations have been made," Rear-Admiral Byrd said, "but I do nob want to give out my plans yet, because there is still plenty of scientific work to be done on the data collected on the last expedition. "As is my custom, there will be no public campaign for raising funds for the expedition. In the past friends of mino who were interested contributed the bulk at the money. In this case they Avill contribute probably all of it. "When I have got further along with the work resulting from the last trip 1 shall be willing to start again."
