SEAMEN DESERT SHIP.
ARMED GUARD OVERPOWERED ESCAPE AT TOWNSVILLE. (Received September 14, 11.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 14. A message from Townsville says four seamen from the aircraft carrier Albatross, who wore serving sentences in confinement, attacked tho armed guard, gagged and bound them, and then dived into tho shark-infested waters of the local harbour. The men swam to Townsville and disappeared. One has since been arrested 50 miles away, but the others have not been traced.
