THREE SHEEP KILLED.

MAORIS ADMIT OFFENCE. "ACTION TAKEN IN REVENGE." [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Thursday. Two Maoris, Billy Koroua, aged 20, and Tommy Rua, aged 22, appeared in the Police Court to-day, before justices, charged with killing three Bheep, with intent to steal the carcases. They pleaded guilty. Accused said that the owner of two of the sheep had poisoned their dogs, and they killed the sheep in revenge. Both accused had one previous conviction. The police said a lot of thieving was going on in the district where accused both lived. The accused were sentenced to one month's imprisonment.
