Hunt, S.M., | in the Police Court yesterday, when Frederick Walter Breed, aged 38, bookseller, was charged with keeping premises at 65, Pitt Street, as a common gaming house. Mr. McLiver, who represented accused, entered a plea of guilty. Detective-Sergeant Kelly stated that Acting-Detective Hamilton had gone to> the premises on August 29 and placed two 10s bets. Later the premises had been raided. Accused was one of the unfortunates who acted as agent for some other man in a big way. Defendant was fined £5, in default one month's imprisonment.
