A bank of the Murray River broke at Mypolonga and another large area of land was inundated. It is believed that the floods in the Mypolonga and Mannum area have passed the peak. The flooded settlements affected contain 117 dairy farms. A conservative estimate of the lesses places the total at more than £250,0 CX). The earning power of each of the farms has decreased by at least £2OOO. The Governor of South Australia, Sir Alexander Hore-Ruthven, visited the flooded areas, when grave allegations against the irrigation officials were made by the settlers.
