RACES AT WARWICK FARM. AMMON RA'S EASY WIN. MOVIE STAR IN THIRD PLACE. A SECOND FOR CYPRESS. (Received August 30. 5,5 t>.m.) SYDNEY. August 30. The Auckland gelding Amnion K- scored a very decisive win in the Hobartvilk Hakes at the Warwick Farm races yesterdaj. He led all the way, out-racing Segovia over the first five furlongs and at the end whining by a comfortable margin from Flying Dave, with Movie Star, another New Zealander, third. In the Warwick Stakes,' won by Johnnie Jason, Cypress (New Zealand) and Chide (ex-New Zealand), ran second and third. Yeilmond, the other ex-New Zealander engaged, ran disappointingly, although he finished fourth. *

Concentrate ran unplaced in the Warwick Farm Spring Handicap, won by Black Douglas, and Autopay and Gesture were unplaced in the Campbelltown Handicap, won by Legislator. Results

NOTES FROM EVERYWHERE. TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP. The Trentham horseman A. Tinslcy, at present with C. Pritchard. intends to join up with M. Conway, at Hawera. The disappointing Raasay (Lord Quex— Tressida) was submitted at auction in Sydney last Monday and was passed in at 30gns. After being treated to a lengthy spell, King Balboa is again in F. W. Ellis' stable at Invercargill. King Balboa has been oil the scene since he ran in the Waimate ,Cup of 1930. Spoon is a daily visitor to the .Riccarton tracks. Her tasks are not of a very strenuous character so far, but she is bright, and well. She should win good middle-dis-tance races this season.

The English stallion Tho Bastard arrived in Sydney last Monday on his way to Queensland. Application has been mado to the registrar of racehorses to have the name changed to The Buzzard.

Laughing Prince is back iu work in L. G. Morris' team at Marlon. The other members of the team are Cadland, Consent, Count Palatine, Fiji and two two-year-olds by Niggei Minstrel and Robespierre respectively.

The Burrangong gelding Wincette, who is engaged at the Otago Hunt meeting, started nine times last season, when his best performance was a third to Membfc and Maungamoe in the Waniwood Hurdles run at the Gore spring meeting. The unplaced lot included Antrim Boy, Gayoma and Paris.

Although Thurina Ims done no galloping sinco the Grand National Meeting, where he won two of the minor steeplechases, he remains in his old quarters, in Mrs. J. Campbell's stable at Riccarton. A proposal is under, consideration to Rive him a few races over hurdles at the spring meetings before treating him to a spell. He should make a good cross-country performer next winter.

Charmeuse has not been required to do any galloping since the Grand National Meet ins. where she had two races, but she is again a daily visitor to the track fit Riccarton. Her easy time will como to an end very soon, as she is to bo included in H. Nurse's team for the Southern spring meetings, commencing with Ashburton nesi month. She is one of the Riccarton horses with good prospects of winning a big race later in the season.

Ball Dress, after showing good form in ihe summer and autumn, went oft when the tracks became heavy, and after a succession of disappointing efforts sho was put out of work, being spoiled through the late part of tho winter. Now she is in commission again at Riccarton, still backward, but in excellent health. ]t is probable that she will have her first race of the season at Trentham lute in October. Tho Winning Hit mare is a good prospect up to a mile and a-quarter. PURCHASE FOR SYDNEY. The six-year-old mare Battle Maid, bj Nassau—Light Action, who was owned if Southland, has been shipped to Sydney, having been purchased by Mr. W. Matthews.
