NOTES ON THE RACING. DEFEAT OF EASTER TIME. GOLD DAWN'S END-TO-END WIN. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMC .'IT. Saturday. Moerangi, fencing splendidly, won the Hnck and Hunters' Hurdles easily. Callapat tired badly and Garrick cut him nut of second money. Evening Hero was fourth. Grny jumped Gibraltar out well from the outside place in tho Opunako Scurry and. taking command entering the straight, ho won weli. Forcefit!. an Australian-bred three-year-uld by High Force—Bretelle, running in the same colours as Seatown, was in front mos' of the way and hung on well. Cornerman finished fast in third place after getting a bad passage. The Members' Handicap saw the downfall of E;ister Time, who was favourite. The three-year-old had every chance and was in front coming into the straight, but faded out. Richfield came with a fast run turning for home and won comfortably. Seatown was unlucky, as he was blocked when making his run in the straight, and got second. Balloon wont a great race after being left. Little Doubt was always in the picture to finish fourth. Winnagan made a one-horse race of the Hunt Cup. and won very easily. Day Lass fell when running well the second time round Royal Finance waited on the leaders in tho Waihi Hack until the turn, arid then went on tc win nicely. Singer finished on and beat Kissless for second. Tentcall was fourth. _ Gold Dawi: led all the way in the Stratford Handicap, and holding off Orapai in the fitraiiU, won by a length. Orapai went a fine race, but Lady Quex failed to run en. Singer, making his second appearance, won tho final event in a slashing finish from Kissless. Goldzone, who came from the clouds, was oniv a head away third, and Moatoa w&e fourth.

A DOUBLE PROTEST. LOVE SONG UNLUCKY. [from our own correspondent.] SYDNEY. August 24. Love Song figure! in a double protest at Rosehill on Saturday, when he passed the post sandwijh»d between Cathmar and Sit Duninaid at the finish of the first division of the Dundas Handicap. J. 11. Jeffercl protested against Cathmar, who won, and in turn connections of Sir Duninaid lodged a protest against Love Song. It was a gruelling struggle over the last furlong, with Carrnar hugging right out on Love • Song, who in turn crowded Sir Duninaid. There is no doubt that Love Song was finishing better than either of the others, and forcing his way almost headed Cathmar on the post. The stewards took so long to decide that the bookmakers were inclined to Bwitch to Love Song in the betting on the protest after first of all favouring Cathmar's chance. They <lid not know that Love Song was also in jeopardy. No action was -taken in either case. , ~ Love Song ran another fine race and it looks as if he will stick. It would not be surprising if he comes into calculations us a Metropolitan horse, for he is handily Weighted in that' race with 7.11. _ Tho Metropolitan will not ho hard to win and Love Song looks ss likely as anything at this stage.
