GOOD START BY FERRIER. (Received August 23, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 23. Play in the open golf championship of Australia began yesterday on the Kensington links with an 18 holes stroke handicap. Tho clay was marred by a westerly gale.
Jim Ferricr, the New South Wales amateur champion, recorded the best round, 74.
