GOLD IN AMERICA.
HALF THE WORLD'S SUPPLY. HEAVY RECENT INCREASE. WASHINGTON, August 21. The Federal Reserve Bank reports that the American gold stocks are 4.983,000,000 dollars (more than £1,000,000,000), which represents nearly half the world's supply. In spite of efforts to check the flow to the United States, the stocks are now 491,000,000 dollars greater than they were in 1930.
