FIDUCIARY ISSUE.
BANK OF ENGLAND NOTES. FURTHER EXTENSION GRANTED. LONDON. August 21. A Treasury minute gives authority to the Bank of England to issue fiduciary bank notes to a total of £275,000,000 for a further period of three weeks. The minute says tho bank represented to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Snowden, that it was expedient to maintain the increase in the fiduciary note issue.
