PHILISTINES' CLUB.

"Fashion Night" was the title given to the evening's programme at the Philistines' Club on Saturday. Sliss Vera Zirnan was hostess and organiser of the entertainment. An unusual note was introduced in the form of a -'Philistines* Fashion Pirade of loEg ago," and "Sliss 1331." Sir. R. H. Slelvilla and Sir. J. Rarr spoke on the "Slystery of Fashion" and "Fashion in Language" respectively. Other items were given by Sir. Geoffry Colledge, Sir. Alan SlcElwain, Sir. Slaxwell Grierson, and Mrs. John Hastings.
