TAURANGA POWER BOARD.
SHED WATER HEATERS. COST EXCEEDS REVENUE. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA, Saturday. Tho engineer, in his monthly report to the Tauranga Electric-Power Board yesterday, stated that during the past month a transformer was erected at the Kaituna for Flax Lands Development. Limited,, and a transformer at low tension for tho tobacco company at Papamoa. Tho Auditor-General returned tho bal-ance-sheet of the board, for the year ended March 31, 1931, certified as correct. It was reported that there were over 300 shed water heaters .in the board's district, which consumed 1,314,000 units a year, for which the board paid £2190 to the Borough Council, but received only £1950 from tho consumers. The matter was referred to the General Purposes Committee to mako investigations and report. The Public Works Department forwarded a copy of proclamation altering the boundaries of the Tauranga electricpower district to include a portion of Rptorua county in the Te Matai district. The question of extending the reticulation in the Maketu' district was referred to Messrs. MacDougall and Mends and the engineer.
