CRAWFORD WINS TWO FINALS.

(Received August 23, 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE. August 23. In tho Queensland lawn tennis championships J. Crawford, by defeating Hopman, 6—3, 6—4, 7—5, won tho men's singles title. Partnered by Mrs. Crawford he won tho mixed doubles by defeating Hopman and Mrs. Molesworth, 7—5, 4—6, 6-3. BOXING IN AUSTRALIA. WILLIAMS DEFEATS SULLIVAN. (Received August-23, 5.5 p.m.) /' ' SYDNEY, August 23. ' At the Sydney Stadium last evening Merv. Williams, list. 81b., obtained the decision against Billy Sullivan, 12st. 2ib. (New Zealand). The contest was stopped in tho 10th round, owing to severe damage to Sullivan's left eye. At the Leichhardt Stadium Fred Hannaberry, lOst. 31b., defeated an American coloured boxer, Eddie Daniels, lOst. 131b., on points, winning all 15 rounds. Tho American took terrific punishment. At Brisbane Ambrose Palmer, list. 71b., defeated Herman Bundren (America), list. 21b., on-points over 15 rounds. ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET. MATCHES SPOILT BY RAIN. LONDON. August 21. Rain caused a complete "wash-out" of some of the county matches. There was no play in Middlesex v. Derbyshire, Sussex v. Lancashire, and Kent v. Worcestershire. Other matches resulted as follows: Notts v. Essex. —Notts: First innings, 53 (Nichols three for 9) ; second innings, seven for 230. Essex: First innings, 124 (Voce fivo for 61). Essex won on the first innings. Somerset v. Surrey.—Somerset: First innings, 286 (Fender seven for 58). Surrey: First for 193 (Ilobbs 101). Tho march was drawn. Glamorgan v Gloucestershire —Glamorgan: First innings, 111 (Sinfield six for 43); second innings, three for 76. Gloucestershire: First innings, eight for 175, declared.
