RECORD SKI-ING PARTIES

CHATEAU TONGAKIRO, Sunday
Weather conditions at tho Chateau Tongariro have been ideal over the weekend and tho snow lias been perfect for ski-ing. Officials of tho Ruapehu Ski Club state that they have never before seen so many people ski-iug at one time on Ruapehu. The Chateau is now absolutely full and with 100 guests arriving this evening, accommodation will bo taxed throughout tho coming week.
Tho Auckland Automobilo Association reports that road conditions from the south are favourable and the To IvuitiTaumarunui route has taken most of the traffic*from the north. Repairs have been carried out on tho Tokaanu-National Park Road and motorists arriving at the Chateau have reported that surfaces arc quite good. All roads are clear of snow right to tho door of tho Chateau, although just above it tho ground is covered.
