HAURAKI BY-ELECTION.
HOWICK REFORM SUPPORTERS In support of the Reform candidate for the Hauraki by-elcction, Mr. W. W. Massey, a well-attended meeting of women was held in the Howick public hall on Wednesday afternoon, the president of the local women's branch of the Reform League, Mrs, Arnold Jones, presiding. In the course of the afternoon a bouquet of autumn flowers was presented to Mrs. Massey, who was accompanied, by the president and secretary of the Mangere ladies' branch. Mrs. Massey expressed thanks for the splendid reception given by the ladies of Howick, and their warmth of support promised in the campaign. It was arranged to hold a social and dance in the hall in aid of the finances of the local committee. The hall decorations and the serving of afternoon tea added to the enjoyment of a most, successful function, for which credit is due to the secretary,' Mrs. C. Hatcher, and her assistants.
