Green, of Melbourne, haß sold the Australian horse Strcphon to Mr. Gerald Deane, acting on behalf of himself and Mr. Somerville Tattersall, who intend to race him jointly. Cleaver has arrived with Day Lass and was sent a round of the steeplechase country, giving a good exhibition of clean, fast jumping. Nukumai, who has joined M. Conway's stable, is in good nick and had no trouble in defeating Royal Acre over a mile in 1.55. Awaken and Chief Link did useful pacework. 1 . . ■ Goldzone finished in front of Compulsory over five furlongs in 1.5. > Tentcall defeated Banbridge over six furlongs in 1.20. Both are in good form. Green Linnett and Kissless finished on terms over five furlongs in 1.65. Calamine, with a liglit-weight up, defeated Bright Glow and Pu-itonu over seven furlongs in 1.3 G. Attentive and Glud Star ran the first four of five furlohgs with Richfield, - the last-named covering the distance in 1.7. Reremoana was too good for the- Australian Sun yoi>igster in O. Cox's stable over four furlongs in 525. Calapat defeated Kawhakina very easily over six furlongs in L2ij. Miss Shell finished three lengths m front of Biliex over four furlongs in 5245. After the Starkey Memorial Handicap at Riccarton to-day Jennings, rider of otarshooter, was suspended for a month lor crossing Mount Boa in the early stages of the race. Reed, rider of Mount Boa. was cautioned for giving unsatisfactory evidence.
