ANNUAL LEAGUE MEETING.

The annual meeting of tlio Norlhcote Women's Progressive League was largely attended. Tho president, Mrs. D. P. O'Leary, presided.

A welcome was extended to Mrs. W. E. Richardson (ex-Mayoress) on her return from a trip to Great Britain. The report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, indicated that useful work had been accomplished. The league's wishes for a speedy recovery to health aro to be conveyed to Mrs. A. E. Creenslade (Mayoress) and Mrs. J. B. Tonar (exMayoress). An attractive syllabus for tho ensuing year was adopted. The Borough Council is to be requested to become responsible for tho weekly hosing of the War Memorial.

It was agreed to co-operate with the Borough Council and representatives 01 tho Ex-Servicemen's Association in making arrangements for the Anpac commemoration service, which is to bo held in the Palais Theatre, on tho evening of April 25. The latest developments in connection with the proposal (o bridge the Auckland harbour wero referred 10, and the good work done by Mesdames J. B. Tonar. R. Martin and J. W. McLaughlin in getting so many signatures to the petition in favour of tho bridge was re-, called with satisfaction.

Tlio election of officers was as follows: President, Mrs. D. P. O'Leary; vicepresidents, Mis. F. W. Wilkes and Miss Couldrey; secretary and treasurer, Airs. A. Taylor; committee, Mesdamcs E. 0. Bailey, J. D. Anthony. A. J. Grant, A. Campbell, and Miss Shutes: representatives to National Council of Women. Mrs. P. Howden and Mrs. F. C. Swinhnnk; representative on Auckland Harboui Bridge Association committee, Mrs. J. W. McLaughlin.
