GREEN LANE IN THE LEAD.

DEFEAT OF HARBOUR BOARD

The Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association's senior grade championship was practically decided on Saturday when Green Lane defeated Harbour Board after an interesting game. Green Lane now leads in the championship, two points ahead of Albion, and only one game remains to be played. Green Lane compiled 003 in its first innings, but good bowling by Seccombe saw Harbour Board dismissed for 176. As the conditions were ideal for both teams. Green Lane's win was well deserved. Albion made a big score against Ellerslie und secured a two-point win, thus placing itself again in the running for tho championship. Invicta proved too strong for Ponsonby, the colts gaining a two-point win.

Thero were some fine batting performances, particularly that of R. Slalhvorthy, who compiled 131 for Albion against Green Lane. A. Ciedco (74), B. "Wright (70), Russell (51) and D. Fecbles (53), were others to bat well. Bowling for Invicta J. Davies secured seven wickets for 21 runs. The present positions of the teams are as follows:

SECCOMBE'S GOOD BOWLING. Seccombe's good bowling was mainly responsible for Green Lane's win against Harbour Board. The former compiled 203 in its first innings.
