SHARK IN HARBOUR.
GAPTURE AT TIMARU. FISH OF GREY NURSE VARIETY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TIMARU, Tuesday. The large shark which was reported as having been thu first one seen in Timaru Harbour for 12 years was caught at the week-end and proved to be a fish of the grey nurse variety, about sft. 6iu. in length. It was gaffed while lying under the rocks at the foot of a wharf.
The fish, although large and apparently well nourished, isi considered to have been sick. Had it not been so it is hardly likely that it would have come right into the harbour. Also, the gaff was used twico while thei shark was apparently making little effort to get away.
