SUBURBAN TRANSPORT.
REQUEST FOR TRAM SHELTER.
MATTERS BEFORE BOARD. . Tho necessity for a shelter at the Western Springs tramway stopping place was urg<?d in a letter before tho Auckland Transport Board yesterday from Mrs. E. Bindon, who stated that on tho Point Chevalier route there was a longer interval between trams than on any other route. If a shelter could not be erected, she thought the residents were at least entitled to a seat. It was decided to have a scat placed at the stop if it was considered necessary by tho manager. Mr. M. J. Coylo said tho board should consider the erection of shelters before tho winter, as there wore many bloak places that needed them. As tho result of an inquiry by the Mount Roskill Board, it was decided to adviso the board that it was not intended to discontinue the Bucklnnd Road bus service when the Three Kings tramway extension was put into commission. Some readjustment of tho service, however, might bo necessary. A petition from the residents of Richardson and Ilarlston Roads and the immediate environs for a feeder bus service until such time as the Mount AlbertAvontlalo tram extension was in operation was unfavourably reported upon by the manager.
