FEDERAL POLITICS.
CAUCUS AND MR. SCULLIN.
A COMPROMISE POSSIBLE.
SYDNEY, Dec. 30. The Sydney Morning Herald says it is stated in Federal Labour circles that the Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, may avert the threatened Federal crisis upon his return by a compromise with the militant sections of his party. It is considered certain that if Mr. Scullin has decided straightout to support Mr. Lyons and Mr. Fenton in. defying the demands of the Federal he will immediately be confronted with a move to depose him from his position.
