AUSTRALIA'S DEBTS.
NEW CONVERSION LOAN. BANKERS IN CONFERENCE. MELBOURNE, Nov. 18. The executive heads of tho principal banks in tho Commonwealth under the chairmanship of Sir Robert Gibson, met yesterday to consider plans to ensure tho success of the £28,000,000 conversion loan. Subsequently the bankers met the actingFederal Treasurer, Mr. J. A. Lyons, and the Premier of Victoria, Mr. E. J. Hogan. Mr. Lyons said the meeting discussed the backing of the banks which was necessary for the success of (ho loan. The bankers met again to-day.
