PLANS OF MR. FORBES.
TOUR OF BRITISH ISLES. VISIT PAID TO SMITHFIELD. (Received November IS. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 17. The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. G. W. F orbes, spent, the afternoon at the Ministry of Agriculture's quarantine station at the East Indies Docks, inquiring into tho possibilities of modifying New Zealand's embargo against the importations of stud stock from Britain. Mr. Forbes will spend next Wednesday in Edinburgh, Thursday in Glasgow and tho next week-end at Leeds. He will be at Bradford on November 24, at Liverpool on November 25, at Manchester on November 26, and will return to London on November 27. Ho will bo in Dublin on December 1, and at Belfast on December 2 and will arrive back in London on December 4.
This morning Mr. Forbes and Mr. R. S. Forsyth, London manager of tho NewZealand Meat Board, visited Smithfield market. They were welcomed by Mr. Conoley, chairman of tho Markets Committee, and numerous salesmen. Mr. Conoley paid a high tribute to the quality of New Zealand meat.
Mr. Forbes said he was gratified to learn at first hand that New Zealand produce was so good and said ho hoped that increasing supplies would meet the same good market. Much of tho success was due to tho Dominion's representatives, and notably to tho goodwill which Mr. Forsyth had established.
A Press Association telegram from Wellington states: Cabled advice has been received by the Hon. K. A. Ransom that (he Prime Minister and members of the ?Tew Zealand delegation to tho Imperial Conference are to sail on their return to New Zealand by tho Ormonde on December 6.
