WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.

ALBANY. A most, cujoyablo concert was given under tho auspices of the Albany Women's Institute in tho Coronation Hall tin Saturday. A party from tlie Rirkdalo Institute provided most of the programme, which included songs, choruses and humorous items, all of which were in suitable costume. The solo parts were taken by Mrs. C'ulpan and Mrs. Chirk, and a solo hy Mrs. Lees, with its accompanying old English dance, was a feature of the evening. The Albany members gave an amusing sketch entitled "Double Demon," Mrs, Armstrong contributed a violin solo, and a trio for violin, piano and 'cello was given by Mesdames Armstrong, Vincent. and Mr. 11. Sloane. There was a, splendid attendance, which showed its appreciation by many recalls. A vote of thanks, carried by acclamation, was accorded to all tlio.se who had contributed to the success of the evening. The proceeds were in aid of the institute funds. TIJKUA. A meeting of the Turua Institute was held recently at the residence of Dr. Miller. There was a very good attendance, and Mrs. T. Miller presided. Tho lady demonstrator of tho Thames Valley Power Board gave a very interesting practical cooking demonstration. The roll call was a proverb, some interesting examples being given. Tho hostesses were Mesdames Allow, Reid, Texley and Schmidt.:
