TROUBLE AT MAORI PA.

HURRIED CALL FOR POLICE. ASSAULT CHARGE FOLLOWS. [DT TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MARTON, Monday. Tho Marton police received a hurried call to Ratana Pa on Saturday morning. They arrested a Maori, who was subsequently charged with assaulting a Maori woman. It was alleged that tho woman was struck on tho head with tho stock of a rifle and knocked down. Accused was remanded for a week. It was stated that Ratana was away visiting Hawke's Bay when the trouble occurred.
