COMPLAINTS ABOUT VOLTAGE. IMPROVEMENT IN SUPPLY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKr. Friday. The Bay of Plenty Power Board, at its meeting at Opotiki, received advice from the Public Works Department that owing to repairs being required on the main transmission line, through the action of sulphur in the Tikitiki district, power would be shut off on four consecutive commencing on November 30. The department is to be requested to make the duration of the shut-down as short as possible. The engineer's report stated that the total number of consumers to date was 1331 and the total connected load 5915 kw. Since the Arapuni trouble the supplv voltago had been low and a lafge number of complaints had been received from consumers. The chairman and engineer had interviewed the district electrical engineer regarding the matter and were satisfied that tho department was doing its utmost to rectify the trouble. Since November 9 the voltage had been normal and consumers would now havo a satisfactory supply. Sinoo the September meeting the wiring staff had been engaged on the electrification of the Opotiki and Opouriao dairy factories and to date 19 motors had been installed, of a total connected load of 193 h.p. Both factories were now running exclusively on electricity. Last evening a presentation was made by the chairman, Mr. H. P. Hogg, on behalf of the staff, to Mr. W. S. Blandford, who has severed his connection with the board to take up a position in tho North Auckland district.
