SPINSTERS' BALL.
FUNCTION AT HUNUA. Visitors from many surrounding districts were present at a very successful spinsters' ball held in the Hunua Hall on Thursday evening. Tlio decorations were carried out with multi-coloured streamers, asparagus fern and balloons. Excellent music was supplied by Clark's orchestra (Avondale), with extras contributed by Mr. H. McConnell. Supper was served by the committee, the latter comprising Misses Joy Robertson, Stella Gannon, N. McConnell, M. Nicol and C. Memmott. Those present included:—Mrs. W. Lockwood, who wore a frock of navy crepe de chine; Mrs. N. Wilson, eau de nil laco with spray of pink daisies; Mrs. G. White, navv crepe morana; Mrs. W. .Jones, green silk, frilled; Mrs. Patterson, ivory frilled georgette; Mrs. H. McConnell, blue figured rayon; Mrs. H. Robinson, floral satin; Mrs. J. C- Vivian, rose taffeta, gold lace; Mrs. S. A. Moron, roval blue ninon over silver lame; Mrs. H. v A. Hall, saxe blue crepe do chine: Mrs. C Ross, lavender satin; Miss J Robertson, water melon pink beaded crepo do chine; Miss S. Gannon, Turkey rod crepo do chine, with tulle leafed hem and lace inlet top; Miss N. McConnell, gold lace bodice, green georgette, peaked skirt; Miss Mavis Nicol, eau de nil satin foulard; Miss Catherine, Memmott, lemon and blue taffeta; Miss D. Nairn, almond green lace with handkerchief points; Miss M. White, black satin with stencilled sprays; Miss E. Henderson, Amure green crepo de chine; Miss A. Home, apricot crepe do chine and georgette; Miss F, Bayly, Nile green georgette and chenille embossed corsage; Miss M. Gamble, almond green laco over satin; Miss H. R ; chardson, blue satin with rose trimmings; Miss M. McConnell, pink satin trimmed with gold lnca; Miss Phyllis Gamble, cherry lace; Miss Phyllis Sleetli, salmon pink rayon; Miss Ivy Bates, green crepe de chine, silver lace; Miss May Walsh, floral voile; Miss Esther McGregor, printed rayon; Miss C. Walsh, lemon embroidered net, handkerchief points; Miss K. Walsh, navy silk trimmed lace; Miss Lothe Jones, mauvo crepo do chine and silver lace; Miss Nobbs, navy crepe do chine; Miss Hood, mauve georgette over red; Miss Taylor, black crepo do chine and red; Miss Daphno Sleetli, iernon rayon.
