ASLEEP UNDER HOUSE.
TWO MEN BEFORE COURT. IMPRISONMENT FOR MONTH. Charges of being found at night without lawful excuse on enclosed premises at 117, Grey's Avenue, were admitted by William Anderson, aged 46. bootmaker, and James McQuoid, aged 58, carter, in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. Chief-Detective Hammond said the two accused were found asleep at midnight under a house in Grey's Avenue. They had an empty methylated spirits bottle, and had apparently been drinking the spirits. Both had long lists of previous convictions. Captain Holmes, of the Salvation Army, said Anderson had been on Roto Roa Island, and McQuoid had been given help by the Salvation Army previously. Each was sentenced to one month's imprisonment.
