HOSPITAL AT TE PUKE.
CHANGES ON THE STAFF. [BT TELEGRAM. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT. ] TAURANGA, Friday. The Tauranga Hospital Board yesterday received a letter from tho deputv-director-general of health advising that as tenders for the proposed additions to To Tuke Maternity Hospital exceeded the estimated cost, and all additional expenditure was being carefully avoided, it would bo advisable for the Board to hold over this work for the present financial year. The Opotiki Hospital Board wrote urging an interchange of applicants for probationer nurses' positions and inquired if the Tauranga Board would be willing to consider a mutual arrangement whereby applicants for positions with the Tauranga Board might be referred to the Opotiki Board, and the Opotiki Board would in return refer local applications to the Tauranga Board. It was decided to agree to tho proposal. Dr. A. A. MacKarlane wrote tendering his resignation of his position under the board at To Puke, as ho has disposed of hjs practice. The resignation was accepted. The board appointed Dr. L. Randell as medical superintendent of the Te Puke Maternity Hospital, and Dr. D. Meßae to the position of attendant on indigent sick in the Te Puke district.
