PROFESSIONAL BOXING.
CONTEST IN AMERICA. LA BARBA BEATS CHOCOLATE. (Received November 4. 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. Nov. 3. In a boxing match between La Barba and Chocolate the decision «went to La Barba after 10 rounds. La Barba opened with a rush, but Chocolate's defence was good and tied up his opponent. Exchanges were brisker in the second round. La Barba scored to tho body and Chocolate to the chin. La Barba was subjected to punishment in tho third round, but rallied sensationally and staggered Chocolate with a two-fisted attack. La Barba in the fourth round had Chocolate on the defensive. Both men slowed down in tho fifth round, but La Barba remained the aggressor. In the sixth Ghocolato was jolted by La Barba's left uppcrcuts just before tho bell. Chocolate rallied in the soventh and outboxed La Barba. There was not much to choose between them in tho eighth and tho onlookers booed the hugging tactics of both men. Chocolate stung La Barba in the ninth round. La Barba clinched the fight in tho final round with a whirlwind finish and landed heavily to the body.
