MISSIONARIES IN CHINA. BRITISH CONSUL'S COURAGE. British Wireless. RUGBY, Nov. .■» The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson, in the House of Commons today gave a detailed account of the events connected with the murder by Chinese bandits of Mrs. Nettleton and Miss Harrison, two British missionaries. Tho Minister described the courageous attempts of tho British Consul, Mr. A. J. Martin, to effect the release of the two women and tho personal risks he ran. The British Minister, ho said, formally demanded punitive measures against the culprits and tho Chinese Nationalist Government replied that the bandits would be severely handled. Apparently tho Chinese authorities were still attempting to bring the guilty men to justice. On the suggestion of Mr. Baldwin, Leader of the Conservatives, Mr. Henderson agreed to convey to Mr. Martin tho appreciation of the House of his gallant conduct.
