OFFENCE BY CHINESE. A charge of remaining in New Zealand beyond tho period for which a temporary permit was granted was preferred against Sue Kong, aged 41, gardener, in tho Polico Court yesterday. Tho accused pleaded guilty through an interpreter and was fined £25 by the magistrate, Sir. F. I\. Hunt, who also made an order for deport alion. Mr. J. Mcintosh, collector of customs, said tho accused had stayed in the Dominion two years, nine months beyond bis time. He was found working in a garden in tho Foxton district and hael been using an assumed name.
