WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
. WAINGARO. Several remits for the biennial meeting of the Auckland Provincial Federated Women's Institutes were discussed at a meeting of tlio Waingaro Women s Institute held at Mrs. Barber's home. Mrs. Picken presided. Remits for tlio Wellington meeting were also considered. A demonstration of smocking by Mrs. Parsons was much enjoyed. A special sales table for a benefit fund was well patronised. Tho hostesses for tlio afternoon were Mrs. Brunskill and Mrs. Coleman. GORDONTON BRANCH. ' Mrs. D. Riddell presided over a largo attendance of members and friends at a meeting of the Gordonton Institute. Mrs. D. Riddell and Mrs. Bridgrnan were appointed delegates to the Auckland Conference. Four now members woro enrolled. A salo of plants under tho charge of Mrs. Bridgrnan was well patronised. Mrs. V. Chilly gave a lectnre on "Gardening," and Mrs. Vincent sang. Afternoon fea was served by Mesdanics Parfitt, Williamson and Thomas. A roll call of children's sayings and a game of nursery rhymes caused considerable amusement.
