AN AFTERNOON TEA.

Mrs. A. Buchanan, who recently returned from a visit abroad, was ()io guest of honour at a delightful lea given to welcome her back by Lady SinclairLockhart in tho Tudor Tearooms yesterday. The balcony room had been engaged for tlio purposo and was charmingly arranged with largo bowls of pussywillow and irises, hanging baskets of creepers and fern, and stands of palms and foliage. Vases filled with golden daffodils made a lovely note of colour against Iho green covered tables and green furnishings of tho room, and through tlio windows could bo seen tho distant hills and harbour bathed in sunshine.

Lady Lockhart received her guests wearing a frock of navy bluo georgette patterned with beige-coloured chenillo circles, tlio dared skirt showing tho uneven hemline, and a hat with tho crown massed with beige osprevs. Sho carried a posy of violets and primroses. Mrs. Buchanan was in a frock of black floral patterned crepo romano worn under a black fur coat, and a black felt hat.
