DANGER TO MOTORISTS.

POLE NEAR TAKAN INI BRIDGE APPLICATION FOR REMOVAL. The danger to motorists resulting from the situation of a telegraph polo just north of the Takanini Bridge, was stressed by several members at a meeting of tho council of tho Auckland Automobilo Association last evening. After discussion it was decided to write to tho Post and Telegraph Department requesting that the pole should be moved. Mr. F. J. Farrell said that at least three cars had crashed into the pole already, and one of the accidents had been fatal. Motorists came along tho straight Takanini Road fairly fast, and tho deceptive curve just over the bridge was inclined to cause cars to skid and strike the pole.

Tho touring manager said the post had been painted white, and a danger sign had been erected. He suggested that a catch-light sign warning motorists of the curve should be placed some little distance down tho road.
