A CARD PARTY.
PONSONBY KINDERGARTEN.
Several functions have been held recently by the committees of the different, kindergartens in Auckland to raise funds to carry on a very excellent work. With this object in view a very successful card afternoon and evening was held by the committee of tho Ponsonby Free Kindergarten in All Saints' Church hall yesterday. Masses of mimosa blossom and golden jonquils arranged in vases with tall ferns made most attractive decoralions. Stationary bridge and trump whist were played, over 30 tallies being occupied in the afternoon, and in the evening, when there was an equally largo attendance, many of tho women were accompanied by their husbands. The prize-winners in the afternoon were Mrs. Tiarks, Mrs. Eraser Smith and Mrs. F. Newell (bridge), and Mrs. Woodhall and Mrs. Hardlcy (whist).
Tho members of the committee were:— Mis. It. Laidlaw (president), Mrs. Tucker, Mrs. M. Billirigton, Mrs. C. F. Bennett., Mrs. G. G. Co'dlin, Mrs. F. Worsfold, Mrs. W. Manning, Mrs. F. W. Boys, Mrs. Rew, Mrs. J. McKee, Mrs. C'. Palmer, Mrs. A. Goldie, Mrs. J. Irwin and Mrs. V. Usher.
