WOMEN'S DIVISION.
FARMERS' UNION. The women's division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, To Awamutu, held a meeting at tlio Parish Ilall on Thursday afternoon. The president, Mrs. YVynyard, was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. Mrs. W. G. Macky, of Faterangi, and Mrs. Georgo Ilall, of Hairini, delegates from tho Te Awamutu branch to the Dominion conference held in Wellington in Juno, gave very interesting addresses, each describing impressions of and experiences at the conference.
Mrs. Neill, of To Kawa, at the request of the president, gave a short explanation of the Family Allowance Act, and read some correspondence she had had from Mrs. Rolleston, wife of the former member for Waitoino, on the subject. It was resolved to approach the Borough Council asking for a seat to be placed near tho post office for the convenience of travellers. The secretary, Miss Eyre, gave a short account of the last Provincial Council meeting in Hamilton. Mrs. Barnett, of Ngahape, and Mrs. Lindsay Young, of Mangapiko, contributed songs, which were very much enjoyed. The Orakau ladies provided a very enjoyable afternoon tea.
