Sunday observance was discussed at, a meeting of the Ministers' Association yesterday, the subject arising in connection with a. movement among some members of the Thames Bowling Club to have the! club open for Sunday play. Tho possibility of a further encroachment upon tho sanctity of Sunday was felt to bo regrettable, nnd tho following resolution was passe] by tho association: —" In view of tho fact that our civilisation and the moral and spiritual welfaro of the community depend upon tho iniluenco of tho Christian Church and upon a duo regard for thp observance of tho Lord's Day, tho ministers connected with the Thames and Ifauraki Plains Ministers' Association deprecate tho growing tendency to secularise tho Sunday and appeal to the community for a greater regard for Sunday observance."
