Torrential downpours of rain covered the wind-screens of the cars, making the driving conditions most diflicult and resulting in many hair-raising skids. One car, going at a terrific speed, skidded so severely that it turned round four times. Campari (Italy), driving an Alfa-J'omoo, was second. Earl Howe, in a Mercedes, was third and Birkin fourth.
