LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

EPSOM. The Epsom branch of the League of Mothers, over which Mrs. T. If. Macky presided, field its monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon in the, Baptist Church hull, Inverness Avenue. Reference was made to the death recently of the late provincial .secretary. Miss A. M. Arey, the members standing in silfine for a moment to mark their respect, and appreciation of the many vain nlilo and uiiseltish services she had given to the cause. The Manurc-tva branch of 111 League of Mothers held a meeting in the. local Town Hall on Thursday. Mrs. <S. McCallini (president) presided over a large, gathering of members and friends. Convincing speeches were made by both sides And when tlio vote was taken tho negative sido had a majority of three votes. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of Miss Arey, late provincial secretary of the League, of Mothers, and of Mrs. Taylor, a latu member of the branch. ON EH LAG \. J lie Oiichunga blanch of the League of Mothers held its fourth annual meeting lust week. Reports were read by the retiring secretary and treasurer, which showed that the branch had progressed during tho past, your, the roll number now standing at L">o members. Interest in tho meetings bad been well maintained, and two of (hem had been entirely run by the members. At tho conclusion of the business the chair was taken by tho now president, Mrs. Jordan, and a vote of appreciation was passed to tho retiring president, Mrs. Ber.fell. Mrs. Bissett sang two songs, her accompaniment being played by Mrs. Craig. A paper on "Peace," written by Dr. Mildred Staley, was read by Mrs. Benfell, after which tea. was dispensed.
