SALARIES TO BE RED U.C ED. INTENTION OF GOVERNMENT. lIOBART. July 17. In his speech at the opening of Parliament the Governor, Sir James O'Grady, announced the intention of the Government to reduce members' salaries by 12j, per cent. Tho Tasmanian Parliament consists of a Legislative Council of 18 members and a House of Assembly of 30 members, who are paid £3OO a year. The Premier receives £ISOO a year, and Ministers £1250.
