APPOINTMENT BY COUNCIL. MEMBER SEEKS RESCISSION. [by temigeaph.—press association.] DUNEDUf, Thursday. At a meeting of the City Council, Dr.. V. E. Gahvay was appointed city organist for a period of 12 months at a salary of £l5O a year. At the following meeting a member of the council gave notice of motion to rescind tho appointment, on the ground that several councillors were absent from the meeting at which the appointment was made.
