GATHERING AT ROTORUA.

Thero was a large attendance of mem bers of St. Luke's Church, Hotorua, at a gathering held to welcome Bishop Williams on his first visit to Rotorua since his appointment. Tho Rov. D. C. Bates, who presided, said Bishop Williams had given all his energy and powers to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Mr, W. W.' P. Hall, on behalf of the vestry, read an address signed by European and Maori ministers.

Bishop Williams referred to his early connection with Rotorua. Ho said he trusted they would not think of him as tho bishop, but more as their friend. A musical programme was given.
