AFFAIRS OF MALTA.
DISTURBING BEPORTS. ' POSITION OF CABINET. RUMOUR OF RESIGNATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received June 22, G. 25 p.m.) ■> LONDON, Juno 21. Early reports from Malta stated that the Cabinet had resigned, without giving any rcasous. This action caused surprise, as the Prime Minister, Lord Strickland, and the Minister of Education and Migration, Sir Augusto Bartolo, who are in London, have no information on tho subject. One message states that the Constitution has been suspended. A later message from Malta denies that tho Cabinet has resigned, but a strong rumour is current that there will bo an early reversion to tho status of a Crown Colony for two years. a Malta was ceded by Franco to Britain in 1800. It was given the status of a Dominion, with its own Legislature, a Senate and a Legislative Assembly, elected by tho proportional representation systoin of voting, and a Governor in 1921. "
