ANNUAL MEETING.
LEAGUE OF PENWOMEN. The annual general meeting of the League of New Zealand Penwomen was held yesterday afternoon at the league rooms, Mrs. duett being in the chair. A letter from 3Tra. Mary Stuart Boyd, president of the league, was read, intimating her resignation of office on. account of ill-health and wishing the league further prosperity and success. References wero made during the afternoon to the great guidance, inspiration and energy given by Mrs. Boyd to the league since its inception, and many regrets wero expressed as to the cause of her resignation. Mrs, Boyd remains the first president with life membership. A motion by Mrs. Hutchinson was carried unanimously to the effect that in future the end of the year be fixed for the third Friday in March instead of as at present the end of June, so that the election of officers and other business coincide with the start of the season. Secretaries of the various sections submitted reports of the activities of the past year, giving evidence of vigorous life and talent throughout the league. The treasurer, Mrs. Hutchinson, in presenting the financial statement showed a healthy credit balance. Sympathetic references were made to the illness of Mr 3. Boswell, whose secretarial enthusiasm and activities on behalf of the club were so much appreciated. Elections for the ensuing year were carried out, the office-bearers being:— President, Mrs. Cluett; vice-presidents, Mrs. Carr Rollett, Mrs. Macky, Miss Elsie K. Morton, Mr 3. Boswell and Dr. Mildred Staley; executive committee, Mr 3. Brownlee and Dr. Gladys Rowley; librarian, Miss Edmiston; treasurer, Mrs. Hutchinson; secretary, Mrs. Nello Porter, with Mrs. Sydney Smith as assistant.
