PLUNKET SOCIETY.
GLEN AFTON MEETING. A public meeting, under the auspices of the Plunket Society, was held in the Glen Afton Hall on Monday evening. There was a good attendance, including visitors from Ngarnawahia and Huntly. Mrs. Burkett, president of the Ngaruawahia branch, presided over the meeting, and was assisted by the secretary, Mrs, Paterson. Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Clark, ol Ngarnawahia, were also present. The aims and objects of the society were briefly and concsely outlined to the gathering, and it was hoped.that the good work already commenced would be extended to the outlying districts. The ladies representing the Huntly branch were Mesdames George, Bright.. Brocklebank, Pascoe and Cnmmins,_who chiefly attended to meet the ladies of Glen Afton in connection with the proposed formation of a sub-committee in their district. They were sympathetically received, and the following were duly elected as a subcommittee of the Huntly branch at Glen Afton :—President. Mrs. D. Thomas; vicepresident, Mrs. P- Hunter; secretary. Mrs. Moloney; treasurer, Mrs. F. Lawson ; committee, M es dames C. Simpson, Leeming, Wilcox, Troughear and RusselL.
