DIOCESAN SCHOOL.

OLD GIRLS' ASSOCIATION.

SUCCESSFUL DANCE

A most successful and well-attended dance organised by the Diocesan Old Girls' Association in aid of the school swimming baths and Maori Girls' scholarship was held last evening in the school hall. The entrance hall was lined with ferns and native shrubs, and the stairs leading to the main ball were decorated in the same way. Boxes of flowering cyclamuns lined the platform where the orchestra was placed, and hanging baskets of ferns looked most attractive overhead. In the supper room cyclamens and ferns were again used with a pleasing effect against tho walls. A number of tables for bridge were arranged in tho two classrooms, and quite a number of non-dancers played cards during the first part of the evening.
