CONCERN FOR RESERVES.
NEW PLYMOUTH BEACHES.
FUTURE HARBOUR WORKS

A request, was made to the Harbour Board to-day by a deputation from the Borough Council, that reserves he set aside by the board in view of the possibility that the popular Ngamotu Beach would be unavailable owing to harbour extensions.
Tne Mayor said they would like to see Pinnacle Rock. Paritutu, and a sufficient area at its hase set aside as a recreation reserve, and the beach on the Omata side of Paritutu set- aside as a bathing reserve. It, was felt that Paritutu was a landmark and should be preserved. If a certain amount of land at its base was also set aside a scheme of improvements could later be discussed. The land could be planted. A committee was appointed to confer with a committee of the Borough Council on the matter.
